Let’s Play Hockey has officially announced the 2015 nominees for the Mike Richter Award, presented annually to the top goaltender in college hockey.
Three Michigan names have cracked the list:
Steve Racine – Michigan – Senior
15-2-3 record, 2.76 goals-against average, .916 save percentage, 1 shutout
Jamie Phillips – Michigan Tech – Senior
17-7-5 record, 2.00 goals-against average, .921 save percentage, 2 shutouts
Cam Johnson – North Dakota – Sophomore – Troy Native
15-3-1 record, 1.54 goals-against average, .940 save percentage, 5 shutouts
Three USHL alums from Michigan made the list, as well:
Paul Berrafato – Holy Cross – Sophomore – Muskegon Lumberjacks alum
Eric Schierhorn – Minnesota – Freshman – Muskegon Lumberjacks alum
Thatcher Demko – Boston College – Junior – NTDP alum
