Northville native John Lethemon had quite a week in the USHL, and in doing so, was named the league’s goaltender of the week.
The Chicago Steel netminder stopped a career-high 47 shots last Friday, recording his second shutout of the past month. He followed that performance up with a 25-save outing on Saturday, including stopping five shots in overtime.
Lethemon is 3-0-2-0 in his last five starts, and he has already more than doubled his wins total from last season. The Farmington High School product holds a 12-10-3 record on the season, along with a 2.81 goals-against average and .907 save percentage.
A Michigan State commit, Lethemon was drafted sixth overall in the 2014 USHL Phase II Draft after leading Farmington High School to a state title. He’s also a Victory Honda alum.
Ford named top defenseman
Meanwhile, Michigan Tech commit Keegan Ford was named the USHL’s top defenseman, after he recorded three assists and a plus-3 rating on the week.
Ford, a Waunakee, Wisc., native, is tenth in USHL defensive scoring on the season, having totaled 23 points in 35 games.
