The Firebirds will be hosting #TropicsNight this Saturday.
And yes, that means custom jerseys.
Now, the jerseys aren’t a complete recreation from the “Semi Pro” movie with Will Ferrell, but they’re close.

Back when it was announced that the OHL franchise would be moving from Plymouth to Flint in 2015, there was lots of chatter about the team actually being named the Tropics. Team management even explored a trademark for the name.
However, they ended up going with the Firebirds instead, disappointing some who wanted to see Jackie Moon (Ferrell’s character) on ice.
