When Team USA begins play in the 2016 IIHF Women’s World Championship in Kamloops, British Columbia in March, two Michigan natives will be suiting up.

USA Hockey officially announced the roster for the U.S. Women’s National Team, and Shiann Darkangelo and Megan Keller earned two of the spots on the roster.

Darkangelo, a Brighton native, currently plays for the Connecticut Whale of the NWHL. A product of Quinnipiac, she has 12 points in 12 games.

Keller, a Farmington native, is in the midst of her sophomore season with Boston College. A Honeybaked alum, she has 44 points in 34 games this season.

The Michigan duo will be joined by the likes of Hilary Knight and Alex Carpenter for the tournament, which runs from March 28 through April 4. Fellow Michigan native Chris Tamer is also on the coaching staff; the NHL alum will be an assistant coach for Team USA.
