Apparently a stick to the face isn’t enough to slow Dylan Larkin down.
The Red Wings’ rookie forward was the recipient of a four-minute high-sticking penalty from Marcus Foligno halfway through the third period, but just a few minutes later, he scored the go-ahead goal for the Red Wings.
After scoring at the 12:01 mark of the third, Larkin followed up with an impressive pass to Henrik Zetterberg that set up the Wings’ second goal.
With an empty-netter from Luke Glendening, the Wings ended up prevailing over the Sabres 3-0 in Buffalo Friday night.
Petr Mrazek stopped all 19 shots he faced to record his third shutout of the season.
