As stated in the NCHC’s release, Griffen Molino “had a breakout month in December.”
Hard to argue with the phrasing.
The Western Michigan freshman forward recorded eight points in five games during December, after just seven in his first 13 games of the season.
Those eight points put Molino, a Trenton native, in a NCHC scoring-lead tie for the month, and it led all freshmen skaters as well.
Molino, a Muskegon Lumberjacks alum, also played to a +7 rating during the month.
His December highlight was a seven point swing in a weekend set with Colorado College on Dec. 11-12 – Molino posted a goal and two assists in Game 1, then two goals and two assists in Game 2 to lead his Broncos to a sweep.
