He’s 19 years old. He just broke a 20-year-old record.
At tonight’s NHL All-Star Skills Competition tonight in Nashville, Larkin broke Mike Gartner’s longstanding record during the fastest skater event.
After posting the top mark in the eight-player competition Saturday night – recording a 12.894 time in a new-look race – Larkin had the sole opportunity to beat Gartner’s record.
With a lap speed of 13.172 seconds around the edge of the rink, Larkin beat Gartner’s record of 13.386.
