According to multiple reports, there was a fatal shooting incident at the Taylor Sportsplex Thursday night.
ClickOnDetroit.com and other media outlets initially reported that a man was killed and two others were injured in a shooting that happened in the Taylor Sportsplex parking lot.
The ClickOnDetroit report says a woman and child were taken to a local hospital due to the incident.
Channel 7 in Detroit reported shortly thereafterthat a 7-year-old girl and her mother were shot and injured, and the shooter is believed to have shot himself after. WXYZ is now saying that the 7-year-old, Emma Watson Nowling, has passed away. Her mother, Sharon Elizabeth Watson, is in serious condition.
The mother and daughter had attended a soccer practice at the facility, and the police are still unsure of the relationship between the shooter and the family.

The Taylor Sportsplex is home to the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association’s Tier I state playoffs each year, and is one of the more frequented ice arenas in the State of Michigan. Hockey, soccer, football and other activities take place within the facility.
