The Grand Rapids Griffins announced today that the AHL club has re-signed forward Alden Hirschfeld, while also adding two more players to their roster.

The Griffins have signed forward Dominic Zombo and defenseman Derek Docken to one-year contracts.

Zombo, 24, just finished his senior year at Nebraska-Omaha. In four seasons with the Mavericks, he recorded 86 points in 137 games. He is the son of former Detroit defenseman Rick Zombo, who played in 353 games with Detroit from 1984-92.

Docken, 25, wrapped up a four-year stay with the University of Alaska-Anchorage in 2014-15. A native of Northfield, Minn., Docken recorded 24 points and 63 penalty minutes with the Seawolves in 139 career games.

Herschfeld, meanwhile, signed a one-year contract to remain with the organization he has spent the last two seasons with. The 27-year-old forward, a product of Miami University, has spent time between the Griffins and Toledo Walleye. Last year, he recorded 44 points in 59 games with the Walleye, while two points in 12 games with the Griffins.
