Tomas Tatar’s week just keeps getting better.

Fresh off scoring five goals in a seven-day window, the Red Wings’ young forward was just named one of the NHL’s stars of the week.

Tatar, who took the league’s No. 2 star spot between Winnipeg’s Dustin Byfuglien and the New York Islanders’ Kyle Okposo, scored in four straight games to help the Red Wings to four straight wins.

Tatar tied for the league lead in the time-frame for both goals (five) and points (seven). He started the week with a goal in each of the Wings’ first two games – a 3-1 win in Buffalo and a 3-2 overtime win in St. Louis. Then, he recorded a career-high three points in a 5-2 win over Nashville, and two points against Buffalo in a 6-4 win.

The 24-year-old native of Ilava, Slovakia, is tied for seventh in the NHL with 21 goals in the season, and he’s tied for third on the Wings with 34 points.
