The Grand Rapids Griffins unveiled an anniversary logo for next season today, as they prepare for their 20th season in franchise history in 2015-16.

The logo, designed by the Griffins with help from Reebok, features a silver shield with a “frozen” numeral 20. The top of the shield is the Grand Rapids city skyline, and team mascot Griff is featured just below.

“The Griffins are proud to be celebrating our 20th season in 2015-16, and we look forward to revealing our plans for this landmark year and inviting our fans to join in the festivities,” said Tim Gortsema, the team’s senior vice president of business operations, in a release. “It’s hard to believe that it’s been that long since our inaugural puck drop at Van Andel Arena on October 11, 1996. However, the tremendous support of West Michigan has helped carry our franchise since inception and will solidify our position as a top-notch entertainment option for the foreseeable future and the next generation of Griffins fans.”

The logo will begin appearing on materials next week, and will be featured on a third jersey that the team will wear throughout next season.
