Dylan Larkin only needed one game this past weekend to claim the Big Ten’s first star.

The Waterford native and University of Michigan freshman forward racked up five points in the Wolverines’ 10-6 win over rival Ohio State Friday night in Columbus.

Larkin, a Red Wings draftee, played a role in the Wolverines’ first three goals in the big win, setting up two and scoring a power-play marker of his own. He would go on to add another goal and another assist in the high-scoring affair.

The five-point outing increases his points streak to five games; Larkin has recorded six goals and seven assists for 13 points in that timeframe. The UM freshman has 25 points on the season, good for third in the B1G behind only teammate Zach Hyman and Penn State’s Casey Bailey.

It’s the third time he has cracked the Big Ten’s weekly awards list.
