Aidan Muir had a big month of December, and his conference took notice.
The NCHC announced today that Muir, a Saline native, was named their rookie of the month, after Muir played at a point-per-game pace in the timeframe.
Muir, a Victory Honda and Indiana Ice alum, scored three goals and recorded one assist in the four games WMU played in December. He was also plus-three in the final month of 2014.
The WMU rookie forward set up the Broncos’ second goal in a 3-2 overtime win over Colorado College on Dec. 12. At the Three Rivers Classic on Dec. 29-30, Muir racked up three goals, scoring the Broncos’ lone goal in a 2-1 loss to No. 14 Colgate in the first game, and then two goals the next day in a win over No. 20 Penn State.
Muir has four goals and five assists for nine points on the season. He also holds a plus-six rating on the season.
He is now a candidate for the Hockey Commissioners’ Association National Rookie of the Month award, which will be announced later this week.
