The Michigan Wolverines officially announced the signings of five players to National Letters of Intent today.
Michigan natives Kyle Connor, Brendan Warren and Nick Boka will join the Michigan program next season, along with Connor Murphy (Ancaster, Ontario) and Joseph Cecconi (Youngstown, N.Y. and a Muskegon Lumberjacks defenseman).
Warren and Boka currently skate with the U.S. National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, while Connor – an expected first-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft – plays for the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL.
“These classes are years in the making, but it’s nice to finally get them on paper,” associate head coach Billy Powers said in a release. “On defense we feel really good about getting two right-handed shots. Up front we have players that are coming from the NTDP and the USHL and we’ve found that those two leagues do a great job in getting guys ready to show something early in their college careers.”
