The first Midget AA ‘split season’ came to a close this past weekend, with Elite Brigade besting the Grand Rapids Amateur Hockey Association to capture a playoff title in the pilot program. Elite Brigade’s squad will now participate in the traditional Midget AA state playoffs and compete for an official state champion crown. The new ‘split season’ allows for players to play in a traditional travel hockey setting up until the end of October and then join their respective high school programs. They will reconvene for the state playoffs in March after the conclusion of their high school season. For more information on the split season pilot program, click here.
