Looks like Michigan’s top two 2015 prospects aren’t doing anything to hurt their draft stock.
ISS Hockey released their latest rankings for the top 30 players available in the 2015 NHL Draft, with Zach Werenski and Kyle Connor both appearing high on their list.
Werenski, a Grosse Pointe native and freshman defenseman with the Michigan Wolverines, is No. 6 on the ISS draft board. In a fitting side note, Werenski – who graduated high school a year early to join the Wolverines – is also the youngest player of the 30 prospects on the ISS list.
Meanwhile, Connor, currently playing for the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL, checks in at No. 11. The Shelby Township native recently became the third player in USHL history to score 50 career goals in the league before his 18th birthday.
It’s still a long ways away from the 2015 NHL Draft (held at the home of the Florida Panthers next summer), but it’s great to see them at such high projections in draft rankings.
