Kyle Connor’s hockey resume just keeps on growing.
The Shelby Township native, currently a forward with the Youngstown Phantoms, is just the third player in USHL history to score 50 goals during his career in the Junior A league before his 18th birthday.
Connor, a University of Michigan commit, scored in the Phantoms’ 3-2 shootout win over Bloomington on Saturday, hitting the 50-goal marker while extending his season points streak to five straight games. He has registered a point in every USHL contest he has played in this season.
Connor is just the 18th player in the USHL Tier 1 era (2002-present) to record 50 goals in his career, and third to accomplish the feat before his 18th birthday. He joins Taylor Cammarata (2010-12) and Seth Ambroz (2008-11) on the prestigious list.
The highly-touted prospect has been projected to be a first-round pick by many hockey analysts and mock drafts.
