Welcome to MiHockey’s new feature ‘The Shift’ – hockey questions for hockey players. In each ‘The Shift’ feature, we take you through the mindset of today’s hockey player through a question-and-answer session, profiling players from the NHL all the way down to youth travel hockey.

Our next featured player is Michigan State junior forward Matt DeBlouw. The Chesterfield native, a product of Belle Tire and Little Caesars, played for the Muskegon Lumberjacks before making the jump to the NCAA level with the Spartans. A draft pick of the Calgary Flames, DeBlouw and the Spartans are less than a month away from starting the 2014-15 season.
