Welcome to MiHockey’s new feature ‘The Shift’ – hockey questions for hockey players. In each ‘The Shift’ feature, we take you through the mindset of today’s hockey player through a question-and-answer session, profiling players from the NHL all the way down to youth travel hockey.

Our next featured player is Western Michigan freshman Aidan Muir. The Saline native, who originally hails from Brampton, Ontario, was the No. 1 overall pick in the USHL’s 2013 Phase 2 Draft, and he posted 41 points in 57 games with the Clark Cup champion Indiana Ice this past season. Now, Muir’s making the jump to the NCAA level, joining the Western Michigan Broncos’ program for the 2014-15 year. Oh yeah, and did we mention he’s an Edmonton Oilers’ draft pick? We’re excited to see what he does for WMU Hockey this year, and where he goes from there.
