In a weekend battle for summer bragging rights, it was Team West that emerged victorious.
The squad – compiled of players from the Grand Rapids area – thrived on familiar ice, winning the Meijer State Games of Michigan high school tournament this past weekend.
Team West topped Team Metro East by a score of 4-2 in the final game.
In the bronze medal game, Team North beat Team Metro West 5-1.
