USHL announces midseason all-star selections

The United States Hockey League announced their midseason all-star teams today, and five Michigan connections made the list. Here they are:

First Team

Kyle Connor – The Shelby Township native, currently playing for the Youngstown Phantoms, ranks third in the USHL with 53 points in 39 games. The youngest player on any of the all-star teams is a University of Michigan commit.

Matt Iacopelli – Iacopelli, a Brownstown native and member of the Muskegon Lumberjacks, is second in the USHL with 31 goals, and fourth in scoring with 46 points over 42 games. The Western Michigan commit holds the Lumberjacks’ season record for goals already.

Austin Kosak – Kosack, a native of Oakville, Ontario, is a Ferris State commit. He holds an impressive +34 rating on the season, along with 22 points in 42 games.

Second Team

Joshua Jacobs – Jacobs, a Shelby Township native, holds a +28 rating over 40 games this season. A Michigan State commit, Jacobs also has 19 points in the same time frame.

Jared Rutledge – Former NTDP and University of Michigan goaltender Jared Rutledge has 20 wins on the season, along with a 2.76 goals-against average and .910 save percentage over 36 appearances.
