Michigan’s control over the Big Ten stars of the week has continued.
Today, the B1G Hockey office announced that freshman forward J.T. Compher and senior captain Mac Bennett have been named the league’s second and third stars of the week, respectively.
Minnesota’s Seth Ambroz took the top spot.
Compher recorded three goals and one assist for the Wolverines in their home-and-home series with the Buckeyes to kick off Big Ten conference play. The Buffalo Sabres draft pick and NTDP alum recorded one goal and one assist in Friday’s 4-3 overtime win at home, and then added a pair of goals in Saturday’s 5-4 road win. Compher leads all NCAA rookies with 1.08 points per game.
Meanwhile, Bennett was +6 on the weekend, and he added a goal and an assist while anchoring the Wolverines’ blue line. His goal was a big one, as he recorded the game-winner Monday night in Columbus.
