The Muskegon Lumberjacks announced yesterday that they will be participating in the 2013 USHL Atlantic Challenge from Sept. 6-8 as part of their preseason schedule, and concluding their warm-up contests at the Fall Classic East.
The USHL club will begin their season by taking part in the inaugural Atlantic Challenge event, which also features the Waterloo Black Hawks, Youngstown Phantoms, Sioux City Musketeers, Sioux Falls Stampede and Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.
All of the Atlantic Challenge games will take place in two different arenas in New Jersey – West Orange’s Codey Arena and the Ice House in Hackensack.
The Lumberjacks’ schedule is as follows:
- Friday, Sept. 6 – Muskegon vs. Waterloo – 5:00 p.m. – Codey Arena
- Saturday, Sept. 7 – Sioux City vs. Muskegon – 3:30 p.m. – Codey Arena
- Sunday, Sept. 8 – Muskegon vs. Sioux Falls – 11:00 a.m. – Codey Arena
The Atlantic Challenge is being hosted by three youth and junior hockey organizations – the Long Island Gulls, the New York Bobcats and the North Jersey Avalanche.
The next weekend, the Lumberjacks will partake in the Fall Classic East in Indianapolis. Hosted by the Indiana Ice, the Fall Classic East will bring all of the USHL’s Eastern Conference to Indianapolis, for games at the Pan Am Pavilion and Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The Lumberjacks will place twice that weekend:
- Saturday, Sept. 14 – Cedar Rapids vs. Muskegon – 4:45 p.m. – Bankers Life Fieldhouse
- Sunday, Sept. 15 – Muskegon vs. Indiana – 5:45 p.m. – Pan Am Pavilion
