The Red Wings look to even their series with the Anaheim Ducks tonight in Game 2 of their Western Conference Quarterfinals match-up. MLive’s Ansar Khan tweeted that Todd Bertuzzi will be in the line-up tonight, and due to an undisclosed injury situation, Mikael Samuelsson may be returning, as well.
And here’s some bulletin-board material for the Wings (as if they needed it) – Teemu Selanne said it’s obviously way easier without No. 5 in the line-up for Detroit anymore.
In other Red Wings news, the club signed 2009 fifth-round pick Nick Jensen to a two-year entry-level contract. Jensen’s a product of St. Cloud State.
Last night we were in Grand Rapids to see the Griffins’ first home playoff game in quite a while. Click here to read our recap from the game – the Griffins won 4-2 – and check back in later today to see a full photo gallery from Van Andel Arena.
Congrats to Honeybaked center Patrick Khodorenko for being selected in the Western Hockey League draft today – he’s a California native. He was chosen in the second round by Everett.
Ohh, the memories.
The Sharks took down the Canucks in Game 1 of their series last night.
Ovi and the Caps start their series with the Rangers tonight. That’s going to be a good one.
James Neal missed practice today after leaving Wednesday’s Penguins/Islanders game early. Penguins didn’t need him – they won 5-0 with him and Sidney Crosby both out.
Speaking of Penguins, what do you think about all these outdoor games next year? Pens/Hawks in Chicago will be cool, but it takes something away from Winter Classic, in my opinion, at least.
Wings tonight. We’re on it.
