USA Hockey announced the goaltenders who are participating in the prestigious Warren Strelow National Team Goaltending Camp that begins today at The Cube in Ann Arbor, and there are plenty of Michigan names featured on both the roster and the coaching staff.
The four-day camp will “cover the physical and mental aspects of the goaltending position, helping each goaltender master the fundamentals of the position while developing a personal identity that translates into game success,” according to the release from USA Hockey.
U.S. National Team goaltender Mike Ayers leads the instructing group, joined by a staff that includes Livonia native Phil Osaer, Detroit native John Vanbiesbrouck, and former Red Wings goaltender Ty Conklin.
The participating goaltenders with Michigan connections include:
- Ryan Larkin – Clarkston native – Honeybaked Midget Major
- Michael Latorella – Washington native – Honeybaked Midget Major
- Edwin Minney – Wind Gap, Pa., native – U.S. National Under-17 Team (MSU commit)
- Alex Nedeljkovic – Parma, Ohio, native – Plymouth Whalers
- Tyler Parsons – Chesterfield native – Little Caesars Midget Minor
- Drew Scites – Maple Grove, Minn., native – Compuware Midget Minor
- Lauren Bailey – Freeland native – Little Caesars 19U
- Alexis Shaw – Troy native – Honeybaked 19U
