TSN.ca is reporting that Davison native Tim Thomas has been traded from the Boston Bruins to the New York Islanders, in exchange for a conditional draft pick in 2014 or 2015.
Thomas hasn’t played for Boston this season; over the summer he declared that he would be taking a year off from hockey.
The Michigan native is technically in his final season of the Bruins’ contract that carries a cap hit of $5 million, per capgeek.com. Thomas had a no-trade clause that expired on July 1.
