The Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced their players of the week today, and three of the four have ties to Michigan. Harrison Township native Bobby Shea, who plays for Bowling Green, was named defenseman of the week, while Western Michigan’s Dane Walters and Lake Superior’s Kevin Murdock picked up weekly awards as well.

Postgame Offensive Player of the Week
Dane Walters, WMU
Sr., F (St. Paul, MN)
Walters scored twice, including the game winner, and was the Perani Cup first star in 3-2 win over Ferris State on Friday. He added an assist in a 2-1 win over the Bulldogs on Saturday.
Gladiator® Defenseman of the Week
Bobby Shea, BGSU
Sr. (Harrison Township, MI)
Shea had two assists in a 3-2 win at Alaska on Friday and added two more assists on Saturday in a 3-3 tie with the Nanooks. He finished the weekend +5 with three blocks.
Warrior® Goaltender of the Week
Kevin Murdock, LSSU
Jr. (Bradenton, FL)
Murdock stopped 46 shots, and was the Perani Cup first star, in a 1-0 shutout at No. 3 Miami on Saturday.
Gongshow® Rookie of the Week
Mario Lucia, ND
F (Plymouth, MN)
Lucia had a goal and an assist, and was the Perani Cup first star, in a 3-2 win over Michigan State on Friday and had an assist in a 5-1 win over the Spartans on Saturday.
