In case you haven’t heard, the Los Angeles Kings beat the New Jersey Devils 6-1, claiming their first Stanley Cup in franchise history. Captain Dustin Brown had a goal and two assists, while Jeff Carter scored two goals. Goaltender Jonathan Quick earned the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP just moments before Brown received the Stanley Cup.
Michigan natives Alec Martinez and Matt Greene get our Michi-gamer nod – after all, it’s not every day that you win the Stanley Cup.
The AHL Playoffs came to an end last Saturday. The Norfolk Admirals swept the Toronto Marlies winning game four by a score of 6-1. This is the first Calder Cup for the Admirals franchise –Tampa Bay’s AHL affiliate.

Beginning in 2014, the newly formed National Collegiate Hockey Conference will hold their postseason tournament at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
Darryl Sutter is now the third Sutter brother with his name on the Cup. Duane and Brent Sutter won championships as players with the New York Islanders. Darryl came close back in 2004, but his Calgary Flames lost Game 7 in the finals to Tampa Bay.
The Boston Bruins have resigned Gregory Campbell and Chris Kelly.
