Good morning everybody! Hope you had a great time on Warrior Hockey Day in Michigan, and were able to celebrate the game throughout all of Hockey Weekend Across America. It sure was a busy weekend for me, but well worth it.
Quick hits
The Red Wings just keep on winning at home, this time posting a 3-2 win over San Jose Sunday afternoon. It was their 23rd straight win on home ice. Both Michigan and Michigan State swept their weekend match-ups, played at Yost and Munn, respectively. On Friday, the Wolverines won in a battle of special teams, while Brett Perlini scored in OT for a Spartans win. Saturday, A.J. Treais scored in overtime for the Wolverines, while the Drew Palmisano posted a shutout on Senior Night.
Part of Warrior Hockey Day in Michigan was 24 Hours of Hockey at Joe Louis Arena, capped off by the Catholic High School League championship. Catholic Central prevailed over St. Mary’s 5-3. Read more about it right here.
We’ll have more coverage of the celebration weekend as the day continues.
